We design and manufacture gantry structures for all makes of overhead cranes up to 100t capacity.

Once the survey and design are complete, detailed drawings are produced for discussion. When approval is obtained the manufacturing process swings into action.

Material is purchased from quality steel stockists that complement our internal quality procedures. All sections are prime S355 material and are cut using circular saws to guarantee square ends. The sections are shot blasted to the Swedish standard SA 2.5 to remove all mill scale prior to the application of a primer to prevent oxidation. All plates are S275JR material as standard.

General plates and fabricated brackets are manufactured from reversing mill plate.

All fabricated steelwork is then transferred through to the paint shop.

Lifting Systems manufacture box girders in accordance with BS 2573 (1980) & EN 15011 up to 50t capacity and 30m long. Box beams are manufactured from a combination of reversing mill plate and de-coiled strip mill plate.

Some applications require us to build the box girders and set up the crane onto free issue carriages.

The bridge structure is then painted to the customer's specification and moved into an assembly area. The customer is granted access to the assembly area to carry out the fitting of their crane prior to loading.

The manufacturing process starts with the goods in department. All steelwork is delivered into the factory, cut to length,...
